RDNL: Melton Centrals blitz Riddell

MELTON Centrals never looked back after a 20 goals to six first-quarter blitz on the way to beating Riddell Bombers 59-34 in A grade on Saturday.

The win keeps Centrals (9-0) top of the league by one game from Sunbury Kangaroos (8-1).

Rebecca Morabito (33) and Renee Hulls (26) largely split the scoring load, while defender Mel Laird and mid-courter Tran Truong were best for the Blues.

Diggers Rest missed the chance to win a third game of the season, beaten 36-34 by Woodend Hesket.

Around the courts, Romsey 54 beat Lancefield 43, Sunbury Roos 51 beat Macedon 24, and Broadford lost to Wallan 40-20.
