FFV: Murphy takes on CEO role

FORMER Fairfax journalist and editor Mitchell Murphy will succeed Mark Rendell as Football Federation Victoria’s chief executive officer.

Murphy will replace interim CEO Peter Gome on July 1 as the state federation seeks to integrate its new National Premier Leagues competition model.

Rendell left FFV late last year to take up the CEO position at Gymnastics Australia. In FFV state league action, Melton Phoenix returns to action away at Brimbank Stallions on Saturday.

Melton’s women host St Albans from 3.15pm on Sunday at MacPherson Park.
