FFV: Melton Phoenix win big first up

MELTON Phoenix made an emphatic start to its state league 5 west campaign with a 5-0 win against Greenvale United on Saturday. 

Melton’s Jason Moody and Michael Clarke scored doubles, while Chris Briggs also got on the scoresheet. Greenvale United was playing its first match in the state league structure after a reformatting of metro and thirds leagues in the off-season. 

The Phoenix will play its first home match of the season on Saturday at MacPherson Park, against Flemington club Melbourne Tornado. Kick-off is 3pm.
