Big V: Melton Thoroughbreds just fall short

MELTON Thoroughbreds stormed back in the final quarter but were unable to chase down Keysborough Cougars in a four-point defeat to start Big V men’s division two.

The Thoroughbreds trailed by 15 at three-quarter-time but hit five three-pointers in the last quarter in a 31-20 shoot-out.

Melton’s Youth League 2 men were successful in their season opener, downing Keysborough 73-60.

Melton hosts Coburg Giants in its first home games of the season this Saturday at Melton Indoor Recreation Centre.

The Youth League 2 men tip off at 6pm and senior men at 8pm.
