Graduates of a Melton transition to work program have plenty to smile about.
Ethan Henderson, Machar Kot, Molly Rose Dunn and Olivia McMahon were among 15 students who received their certificate III in customer service as part of the Employment Plus Transition to Work.
The latest graduates last week mingled with potential employers and local councillors at a ceremony to mark the milestone and advise them for their journey ahead.
Employment Plus national director Graeme White said the organisation was proud to provide young people with inspiration and the chance to network.
“Our Transition to Work candidates represent the younger faction of Employment Plus’ jobseekers,” Dr White said.
“There is no guarantee that talent and intelligence will make job seeking easy or successful … not everyone gets the same opportunities.
“Many of these candidates have lived through significant adversity and have substantially more difficulty finding work.
“Building self-confidence and learning interpersonal skills is an important part of their journey to gainful employment.
“We are thrilled our organisation has been able to financially and emotionally support these candidates to be job-ready.”
