Woman blows five times over limit on long weekend

A Melton South woman has allegedly blown over five times the legal limit after police pulled her over at lunchtime yesterday.

The driver returned a blood alcohol level of .270 after being taken to a nearby station following a preliminary breath test.

Driving on Barries Road about 1pm on Monday June 10, checks on the driver’s licence revealed it was allegedly cancelled.

Her car will be impounded for 28 days at a cost of $1006.

The incident comes after Operation Regal, which ran from Friday June 7 to Monday 10 June, recorded 7,099 offences across Victoria, including 217 in Melton and Moorabool.
