Seven Moorabool projects have come into a windfall courtesy of a community grants initiative.
Bungaree Bowls Club, Clarendon and Yendon recreation reserves, Dunnstown Community Centre, Elaine and Lal Lal soldiers memorial halls and Millbrook Fire Brigade will share in $100,000 as part of Lal Lal Wind Farms’ benefit fund program.
The money will go towards everything from kitchen and hall upgrades to audio visual equipment.
Tom Irvine, of Lal Lal Wind Farms, said it was important for the group to give back to the community.
“It was a pleasure to meet the grant recipients and engage in person with the community members who so generously volunteer their time and services to develop these important projects,” Mr Irvine said.
A community reference group, comprised of residents, reviewed 14 grant applications and provided recommendations to Lal Lal Wind Farms to make the final decision.
Community engagement manager Tracey Ward said the community would benefit from the fund each year for the 30-year life of the wind farms project.
“We are so pleased that so many local groups are now able to move ahead with their projects,” Ms Ward said.
