Werribee driver caught in Melton

A 27-year-old Werribee man was arrested in Melton after he was allegedly seen driving at speeds of up to 150km/h.

Police said a Holden Commodore was allegedly driving erratically along Point Cook Road in Point Cook shortly after 2am on Tuesday, August 16.

The vehicle was monitored by police on the ground and guided from above by the Air Wing as the driver made his way to Melton.

Stop sticks were deployed on Exford Road and successfully punctured a tyre, causing the vehicle to come to a stop shortly after 2.30am, according to police.

The man is expected to be charged with a string of dangerous driving offences, speeding and driving while unlicensed.

Police will also impound his ute, which is allegedly not registered, had false registration plates and was unroadworthy.
