Victoria’s State Emergency Service (SES) is kicking off 2025 with a recruitment drive.
The SES is on the look out for new volunteers to help them help Victorians in emergency situations.
The SES is the state’s peak control agency for natural disasters such as floods, storms, earthquakes, tsunamis and landslides.
It also provides the largest road crash rescue network in Victoria.
SES volunteers are needed in rural, regional and metropolitan locations and in the event of an emergency, provide assistance on the front lines and in emergency planning and strategy centres.
Volunteers also provide education to help community members understand what to do when an emergency strikes.
Each volunteer receives accredited, recognised training as part of their role, ranging from first aid, general rescue and chainsaw operations, through to community education, media training and more.
Children between 15 and 18 years old can apply for junior memberships.
