Bush tucker is on the menu at an upcoming workshop in Brookfield.
Friends of Melton Botanic Gardens invites all the community to a presentation from bush food specialist Karen Sutherland who will discuss how to grow and use a selection of plants in cooking at the Botanica Springs community centre on Wednesday (September 13).
Friends of Melton Botanic Gardens president John Bentley said participants will learn to use river mint, native sage, finger limes and old man saltbush among a host of bushfoods.
“There are a lot of different varieties of plants that people can use in both traditional cooking and in a contemporary way,” he said.
The event starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday at 249 Clarkes Road, Brookfield.
