Truganina market kicks off

Truganina’s first local market has just launched, aiming to connect local growers and producers with the community.

Hosted by Stockland in partnership with Urban Markets in the Mount Atkinson estate, the first Mt Atkinson Market was hosted on Sunday 12 October.

According to Stockland, visitors enjoyed a day of entertainment, live music, kid’s activities, and over 30 stalls to browse.

The market will run on the second Sunday of each month, with the organisations aiming to bring in a variety of handmade and artisan products, fresh produce, and gourmet treat stalls.

Urban Markets manager Felicity Ashman said the market is supporting stallholders from Wyndham, Melton and Moorabool – along with some travelling from Geelong and Melbourne’s eastern and northern suburbs.

“It’s more than just a place to shop, it’s where families and friends can come together, connect with their neighbours, and celebrate local talent,” Ms Ashman said.

“Visitors can enjoy fresh, seasonal produce, discover one-of-a-kind handmade goods, and sample delicious gourmet treats, all while supporting small businesses right on their doorstep,” she said.

“We see the market as a way to foster community spirit, encourage sustainable and mindful shopping, and give local entrepreneurs the platform to grow and thrive. Every market day is a chance to create meaningful connections, celebrate creativity, and strengthen our local economy.”

The next Mt Atkinson Market will run from 10am–2pm on Sunday 9 November at the Mt Atkinson Vision Centre.

Stall applications are welcomed.
