The Western Freeway is currently closed Melbourne-bound under Hopkins Road, Deanside following a serious collision which resulted in a truck rollover.
Traffic is reportedly heavily congested from the Melton Highway, resulting in delays exceeding 75 minutes, with significant congestion surrounding roads including Hopkins Road, Greigs Road, Sinclairs Road and Taylors Road, according to VicTraffic.
Return access to the Western Freeway is available via Hopkins Road for northbound traffic only, or from Christies or Robinsons roads.
Commuters are being advised to exit the freeway at Melton and use the Melton Highway through to the Calder Freeway and M80 Ring Road to save time, or use public transport if commuting to the city,
The closure is currently under Victoria Police control, with the work involved to empty and recover the rolled over truck expected to take several hours.
