Toolern Vale raid nets drugs and guns

A Toolern Vale man has been arrested after police found a cache of drugs, firearms, ammunition and allegedly stolen equipment on Friday.

Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit detectives executed a warrant at the McCorkell Road property where they allegedly found a number of firearms, including a gold-plated lever action Winchester rifle; a “large amount” of ammunition; and a caravan, four motorbikes, a skid-steer loader, a truck and a large trailer all believed to be stolen.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Creina O’Grady said police also found a hydroponic cannabis crop and ‘ice’ at the address.

The 38-year-old man has been charged with drugs offences and bailed to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court in June.
