A Melton dance program needs help to keep its weekend classes moving.
BusyFeet – a dance, music and movement program for children with intellectual and physical disabilities – is looking for a qualified teacher to run its popular Saturday workshops in Hillside.
About 25 children are enrolled in the volunteer-run initiative which caters to children aged between six and 16.
Program chair Annette Butterworth said the program provided opportunities for the children to meet friends and let loose.
“The kids love the program,” she said. “They come into the room and they socialise and have so much fun. It’s also great for the parents and carers because they have the opportunity to network and have a break over a coffee and
talk to other people who have similar situations.”
BusyFeet classes are held in Melton on Thursday afternoons from 4.30-5.30pm and in Hillside on Saturdays from 11-11.45am during school terms.
The program is supported by Melton council, Caroline Springs Rotary Club and Instyle Dance Company.
