Melissa Pym went from being centre stage as a fire performance artist to feeling “almost invisible” now.

In 2014, she was diagnosed with lyme disease, an infection caused by a tick bite.

Since then she has suffered chronic seizures, debilitating pain in her hips and legs, convulsions and migraines.

Ms Pym says she has exhausted her treatment options in Australia and will now have to leave her Kurunjang home to receive potentially life-saving medicine and therapies at the Klinik St Georg in Germany.

Almost $4000 of the $72,000 she needs for medical and travel expenses has been donated online to the Save Mel GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign.

“I am officially asking for help,” she said.
