Melton and Moorabool residents were able to enjoy a weekend of freedom after restrictions eased last Friday and vaccination milestones were reached.
Retail, hairdressers, gyms and shopping centres opened their doors to the public, many for the first time in months.
Travel between metropolitan and regional areas opened up, with many city-siders venturing to the coast or the country.
More than 80 per cent of eligible Victorians have been double vaccinated as of Sunday, putting the state well on track to reach its upcoming targets.
The most recent vaccine data shows more than 95 per cent of Melton residents over the age of 15 have received at least one dose, while 72.4 per cent are fully vaccinated.
Moorabool has seen 95 per cent of its residents receive their first dose, with just over 79 per cent fully vaccinated.
Melton recorded 65 new locally acquired cases in the last 24 hours, and Moorabool recorded nine.
There are currently 1572 active cases in Melton and 82 in Moorabool.
On Sunday,, the state recorded 1036 new cases, which was the smallest single day case increase since September 28.
The total number of active cases in Victoria now sits at 22,013.
The state government is now focusing on improving vaccination rates for 12 to 15 year olds.
Minister for Employment Jaala Pulford said “the young ones are bringing up their 80 per cent a day later. I think we’re just a smidgen under 80 per cent for the 12 and ups, but they have caught up“.
