Autumn is about to cast its spell on visitors to Ballan.
Thousands are expected to roll into town for the annual festival, on March 17, to enjoy the best food, drink, entertainment and market stalls Ballan has to offer.
This Ballan Autumn Festival’s quirky academy of magic theme will incorporate all things mystical.
Festival association president Kevin Harper said this year’s engagement from the community is “generating a momentum of its own”.
“We’re building on the real family atmosphere created by last year’s Mad Hatter theme,” Mr Harper said.
A main spectacle of the festival, now in its 44th year, is the Ballan farmer’s market, grand street parade and float competition.
Other highlights included the magic cake decorating competition, the best pumpkin competition, the CWA’s high tea party, Scottish country dancing and roving magicians.
“We’re still looking for any community groups keen to join the grand parade and we’re expecting 10,000 across the day.”
Mr Harper encouraged all visitors to take part in the dress up portion of the event with trophies up for grabs.
