Search for driver continues following fatal collision in Truganina

Police are still searching for the driver of a truck after a 23-year-old Thorn Hill Park man was found dead on the Western Freeway on Monday night.

Police have identified one truck driver, who is believed to be a witness, after identifying two trucks were in the vicinity of the incident and were travelling through the area at the time.

The witness came forward to police following the crash on the Western Freeway and reports the driver of the crashed car was seen acting erratically on Monday, December 19, about 11.30pm.

The man’s truck was located in South Australia and the driver is currently speaking with South Australian officers, who are assisting police.

The second truck of interest and the driver remains outstanding.

Police believe a 23-year-old man was driving a white 4WD when his vehicle left the road and crashed into wire rope barriers.

The man got out of the 4WD before he was struck by another vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.

Police said the Thorn Hill Park man died at the scene.

Police are still working through the circumstances surrounding the crash.
