The secondary school journey is nearly over for senior Staughton College students and their year’s best work was on show last week.
The school’s annual showcase, organised and run by VCAL students, is an opportunity for them to present their projects to their parents and peers.
Learning co-ordinator Tanele Spiteri said the focus of this year’s students was to develop the necessary skills for school and beyond.
“Students presented their major projects, their portfolio of work for the year in the showcase,” Ms Spiteri said.
“They were assessed on the organisation, presentation and successful completion.
“We are extremely proud of how effectively our students have worked this year to achieve success.”
Ms Spiteri said about 65 students enrolled in VCAL this year, with the number jumping up to about 100 next year.
“Students that have successfully met their outcomes will be finishing up at the end of this term and completing a three-week work experience block in which they will gain hands-on practical experience in their chosen field,” she said.
Many of the students will take up apprenticeships, full-time employment or further study next year.
