Melton Carols by Candlelight is back this year, and council is inviting everyone to join in the festive cheer at Hannah Watts Park on Saturday, December 3 from 6pm.
The evening of free family entertainment will include performances from local community
groups, professional choirs and an orchestra as well as much beloved children’s entertainers.
Guests will be invited to sing along with the onstage performances of traditional and modern Christmas songs, before a special appearance from Santa Claus.
Children can enjoy face painting and Christmas craft activities and even send a letter to
the North Pole with their wishes for Christmas with help from Santa’s helpers.
Residents are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and something to eat. There will also be a
range of food trucks on site and the Melton Valley Rotary Club will be hosting a sausage
Sizzle.
In the event of severe weather, Carols by Candlelight will be cancelled.
Notification of any cancellation will be posted on Council’s website and Facebook page the morning of the event.
This is the first Melton carols event since 2019, and Melton mayor Lara Carli said council has prepared a “spectacular show that truly celebrates the magic and meaning of Christmas.”
“Carols by Candlelight is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a very special time of year with
our whole community,” she said.
“Bring your best singing voices and join in the fun as we come together as a community and
get excited for the coming holidays.”
