Rockbank Primary School has doubled in size since it last put on a school production, but it’s still been all hands on deck to make it happen.
The school, which now has over 190 students, held their annual production last week, and arts teacher Alyssa Carmichael said it had been a strong collaborative effort to make it happen.
“We do a production every two years and even though we have more students than the last one we’ve still kept everyone involved in some way,” she said.
“The kids have been fantastic through the audition process and then preparing for it, whether they’re acting, or part of a class dance everyone has a role which is great.
“We’ve also had our maintenance staff doing lots of work with props which has been fantastic.”
The play, Sing a Song of Sixpence, saw teachers and students preparing for the past two terms in order to put on the successful show.
“It was a good choice for us because there were lots of speaking roles from prep right through to grade 6,” Ms Carmichael said.
“The kids have been very motivated and excited, they’ve been fantastic in making this happen.
“It’s a pretty wordy production, but the students ability to work on remembering their lines has been pretty outstanding and it’s great to see the final product.”
