Roadworks across Melton

Motorists are being urged to plan ahead as a range of roadworks and upgrades roll out across Melton over the coming weeks.

Several projects are underway or are soon to start and are expected to cause temporary traffic disruptions.

A full closure of the Melton Highway, between Crown Drive and The Regency in Hillside, will be in place in both directions between 8pm to 5am on Thursday 29 January and Monday 2 February.

A number of lane closures are also likely to affect travel times. In Fraser Rise, one lane is closed on Hume Drive at the Saric Street intersection until 20 February.

At Cobblebank, Alfred Road will have off-peak lane closures near the Ferris Road intersection until 6 February.

The Boundary Road and Troups Road South intersection has reopened, however motorists should expect lane closures with traffic managed under shuttle flow from 2-6 February while lighting is installed.

Additional disruptions include a reduced speed limit of 40km/h on Rockbank Middle Road until 2 February, between 7am and 7pm.

Council’s 2026 road resurfacing and resealing program is also underway, while level crossing removal works are likely to cause further intermittent disruptions.

Residents are also invited to have their say on the proposed closure of Krateron Street and detours to support construction of the Saric Street and Taylors Road intersection in Fraser Rise, with consultation closing on 2 February.
