Road works to cause delays

Motorists are being urged to plan ahead as a range of roadworks and upgrades roll out across Melton over the coming weeks.

A number of projects are underway or are set to start across Melton and are expected to cause temporary traffic disruptions.

Ryans Lane will be closed between Melton Highway and Finchs Road for sealing works from Monday 2 March through to Friday 27 March. Resident access will be maintained and a detour via Mount Cottrell Road or Federation Drive will be in place.

An eastbound lane closure is set to be extended until mid-April this year between Hume Drive and Saric Street in Fraser Rise, with a detour via Kennedy Drive or Taylors Road.

One lane along Exford Road in Exford will also be closed during off-peak hours between Mondays and Fridays until early March to install wire barriers between Parwan-Exford Road and Murphys Road.

Lane closures will also affect the Melton Highway and Banchory Avenue intersection, as one lane will be closed each way with no right-hand turns at the centre median until late 2026.

Traffic management and speed reductions are also set to affect Ferris Road in Cobblebank from 8pm Friday 27 February to 5pm Monday 2 March while the level-crossing removal project gets underway between the roundabout at Abey Road and Shogaki Drive, as well as the intersection at Hollingsworth Drive and Coach Street.

A detour via Bridge Road through Exford Road and Abey Road will be in place.
