Western Health’s vaccine program is being scaled back including at Melton as more the population is vaccinated.

Western Health announced changes on its website to a number of its vaccination sites going forward.

“We’ll continue to provide vaccination services (both sit-down and drive-through) at our Melton site and at Sunshine Hospital with reduced cubicles to match reduced demand,” the website said.

“The sites at Melton and Sunshine have the capacity to increase to meet demand for booster doses as required and also to support the vaccination hub’s role in the under 12 age group.”

Western Health’s outreach vaccination service will continue targeted work across the west metro region.

The sit down vaccine hub at Eagle Stadium in Werribee will close on November 28, with the drive through service to end on December 17.

The Melbourne Showgrounds site will close on December 5.

First, second, third and booster doses will be available at the Western Health remaining sites and at participating GPs and pharmacies.
