Red Cross volunteers will be out in force across Melton this month, rattling tins and raising both money and awareness.
Volunteer Narelle Amor thanked people who had donated their time and money last year, and called for help again this month.
“We rely solely on the generosity of donations, and we really appreciate everyone’s contribution to help an integral part of our community,” Ms Amor said.
“When you see a Red Cross uniform, these are all volunteers – busy mums, dads, nans and pas, just like you. We really need your help.”
Ms Amor called on anyone aged more than 16 and “of good character” to rattle tins outside Melton McDonald’s.
