Pram-pushing couple steal purse at Highpoint shopping centre

Police are searching for a couple alleged to have stolen a purse from a woman at Highpoint shopping centre in Maribyrnong.

The couple were pushing prams with two young infants at the centre on Rosamond Road just before 5.30pm on Sunday, December 3.

Victoria Police Acting Sergeant Melissa Seach said police believe the male offender pushed one of the prams in front of the victim.

While the victim was distracted, the female allegedly stole the purse from the victim’s handbag.

The thieves are described as being of Indian sub-continental appearance.

Investigators have released an image of the man and woman who they believe can help with their inquiries.
