Police search for Bradley Said

Police have called for public help to find a 26-year-old man wanted for theft, assault and weapons offences.

Investigators said Bradley Said is known to frequent Woodgrove and Pacific Werribee shopping centres and may be in the Werribee, Hoppers Crossing and Melton areas.

Said is described as being about 185 centimetres tall, with a medium build, has light brown hair and brown eyes.

Record candidate roll-up

Wyndham has broken the national record for the highest number of candidates to contest a local government election. Star Weekly last week reported that the 95 nominees was a state record, but it has since been confirmed to be a national record. Brisbane held the previous record, with 93 contesting an election.

Grieving for a child

People who have lost a child through a miscarriage or a stillbirth are invited to attend a memorial event at Werribee Mercy Hospital. Saturday, October 15, is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. The hospital will host reflection services and candle lighting at its multi-faith chapel from 2pm.

Youth week grants

Community groups, schools and councils can apply for funding as part of National Youth Week. Grants of up to $2000 are available to support young people in planning and hosting events and activities during the week. National Youth Week is an annual event celebrating people aged 12
to 25.
