Police officer injured during arrest

A police officer has allegedly been slashed in the face during an arrest involving a stolen food delivery car.

Police have charged three people following the alleged theft of a food delivery car in Kurunjang on Friday, December 9.

The food delivery car was allegedly stolen from Kirkton Drive at about 9.25am.

Police were able to track the vehicle to First Avenue in Melton South.

Two males and a female were arrested.

Police have charged a 28-year-old Coomoora man with handling stolen goods, possessing cartridge ammunition and possessing a drug of dependence.

He has been remanded to appear in the Sunshine Magistrates Court on Wednesday, December 14.

A 21-year-old Wyndham Vale woman has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, theft of fuel and possessing cartridge ammunition.

She faced Melbourne Magistrates Court Saturday, December 10.

A 34-year-old Bacchus Marsh man has been charged with 14 offences including intentionally causing serious injury, assault of a police officer, prohibited person possess firearm and theft of motor vehicle.

He has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on April 3, 2023.

The injured police officer has been discharged from hospital following surgery.
