Police investigating Melton road rage incident

Police are seeking assistance following a road rage incident where serious threats were allegedly made to a female driver.

On February 22,the victim was stationary at the intersection of Coburns and Barries roads, Melton. The driver was in a green Hyundai Elantra and was facing East on Barries Road preparing to turn right onto Coburns Road.

The alleged offender was driving an older model silver Triton Ute and was positioned behind the victim’s vehicle. At the intersection the driver has got out of his Ute and approached the victim.

The driver of the Ute is described as male, Caucasian, blonde scruffy hair and wearing a navy-blue t-shirt and light brown tradie pants.

A verbal altercation has occurred, and the male has banged on the victims window a number of times, shouting and verbally abusing her.

Before returning to his own ute, he banged on the side mirror and spat on the window.

In fear the victim has left the intersection against the red signal and reported this matter to the police.
