Play haven for Hillside

Kids of all ages will have a new playground to enjoy in Hillside before the coming summer ends.

Final construction is under way on the brand new playground at Kenswick Drive Reserve, with exercise equipment and soccer goal also being added.

A new shelter, seating and picnic areas are other additions being put in place as part of the upgrade.

The new features are expected to be unveiled before the end of the year.

Melton mayor Sophie Ramsey said the reserve makeover had been designed with the community’s feedback in mind, and was developed after a detailed consultation process.

“Previously, this park had seen better days – there was no play or exercise equipment at all, and the grassed areas were rough and patchy,” Cr Ramsey
said.

“I look forward to seeing this reserve become an active outdoor space for the whole community.”
