Parwan gains first housing development

A national property company has purchased more than 45 hectares of land for residential development in the suburb of Parwan, south of Bacchus Marsh.

The Burbank Group, who run national property estate development company Burbank Homes, have purchased the land under one of their nine companies called National Pacific Properties.

The land will be developed to provide 850 homes for the area.

National Pacific Properties (NPP) is the first developer to purchase land in Parwan, with general manager Tom Trevaskis citing the future Parwan Station Precinct and Parwan Employment Precinct projects as major benefits.

“Growth in the area has traditionally been focused on the northern and western sides of Bacchus Marsh but the Parwan Station Precinct Structure Plan will unlock land on the Melbourne side of Bacchus Marsh well connected to infrastructure which has attracted major developer interest,’’ Mr Trevaskis said.

“This exciting new purchase at Parwan is aligned with our NPP growth strategy to acquire new sites in greenfield locations in Melbourne.”

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) is working with Moorabool Shire Council to prepare a plans to facilitate the future station precinct, a multi-functional area with up to 13,000 new residents, 4000 new jobs, a potential new train station, schools, active sporting precincts and local retail facilities.

The purchased land is located near the Western Highway at 235 Parwan-Exford Road, adjoining the Parwan Employment precinct.

The Parwan Employment precinct is an initiative from the Moorabool Shire Council and the VPA to develop the area south of Bacchus Marsh into an agribusiness hub.

The plans to develop further infrastructure in Parwan serve the goal of attracting significant levels of new industrial and agricultural business investment to the region and capitalise on existing business in the area, expected to generate 1500 permanent jobs.
