Thousands are expected at the Djerriwarrh Festival in Melton this weekend to enjoy a jam-packed line-up of activities.
About 35,000 people are expected to enjoy the festival at Melton Recreation Reserve on Sunday (November 18). The day starts with the annual parade along High Street.
This year’s theme is “I belong. A celebration of community”.
For the first time, the festival will this year feature environment expo Sustainable Lane, which is aimed at helping residents to make their homes and lifestyles more environmentally friendly.
Other attractions will include the Djerriwarrh Festival bonfire, market stall village, a pet expo, international food, Lion’s Club Carnival and a fireworks display to cap off the day.
The live music line-up on the main stage will conclude with the Antipodean Rock Collective.
Melton mayor Bob Turner said he was looking forward to the day.
“Once again, we have managed to attract a stellar line-up of talented acts to perform their live music on the main stage,” he said. “The artists always draw in huge crowds.
“Many months of planning and organising have gone into creating this wonderful day, which is sure to entertain both residents, and visitors.”
