Outback comes to Caroline Springs

On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me … an emu up a gum tree.

The honeycomb windows at the Caroline Springs Gallery have come alive with Christmas cheer. Each window features a distinctive colour panel depicting one of the 12 days of Christmas, the Aussie way.

The decorations feature an emu up a gum tree, two pink galahs, three kookaburras, four koalas, five kangaroos, six brolgas, seven possums, eight dingoes, nine wombats, 10 lizards, 11 numbats and 12 parrots.

Melton mayor Sophie Ramsey said the creative display was a clever take on the traditional Christmas carol.

“The beautiful display has been installed for the community to enjoy, and adds a little extra Christmas cheer,” Cr Ramsey said.

“The windows certainly create a happy, festive atmosphere and will help build Christmas spirit and community pride over the festive season.”

To view the display, visit the gallery at 193 Caroline Springs Boulevard, Caroline Springs.

Other Christmas decorations are being installed at High Street, Melton, and along Caroline Springs Boulevard.
