During the operation, police searched for weapons on people and in vehicles, using hand-held metal detector wands to search for hidden weapons, such as knives.

The operation resulted in five arrests, five Infringement Notices, 164 vehicle checks and over 620 people searched.

Anyone caught carrying a controlled weapon in a public place faces a $1000 fine.
