Nine arrested, two teens charged over car theft

Police arrested nine people and charged two teens in Wyndham Vale on July 17, following an alleged aggravated burglary in Aintree.

It is believed the alleged offenders attended an address in Bullion Drive sometime between 9pm on July 16 and 6am on July 17.

They entered the premises and stole the keys to a white Volkswagen Tiguan before allegedly stealing vehicle from the driveway.

The car was tracked to an address in Woolspinner Crescent in Wyndham Vale about 8.35am on July 17.

Officers observed five males exit the car and head to an address in Shorthorn Way.

The nine males, two of whom were in the driveway and seven that were inside the residence, were arrested and taken into custody.

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy have since been charged with theft of a motor car.

An 18-year-old man from Wyndham Vale has been released pending further inquires.

Two 16-year-old boys and two 17-year-old boys are still assisting police with their inquiries.
