Next stop, a paint job at Melton train station

Melton train station has been brought to colourful, artistic life.

Djerriwarrh Community and Education VCAL students spent most of last week injecting a boring, drab part of the train station with colour.

VCAL co-ordinator Adele Ouslinis said the students wanted to “revive” the boring station and make it more appealing.

About 20 students set out to “explore and celebrate” different cultures – what emerged was a colourful painting, with each colour depicting different cultures.

“When researching we looked at Melton as a community and we looked at all the cultures that make it up,” Ms Ouslinis said.

“We know our organisation and community has a lot of different cultures and is made up of a lot of different people – we wanted to celebrate them.”
