The state government will build a new state-of-the-art ambulance station in Bacchus Marsh.
Paramedics have outgrown the current station that was built almost five decades ago, with the branch responding to about 250 call-outs per month.
The new $2.5 million station will be built on a new site to be identified, as the current land is too narrow to build a facility that meets today’s standards, state Health Minister Jill Hennessy announced on Friday.
The station will include a four-bay garage, rest and recline areas, training rooms, bedrooms, modern amenities and a kitchen.
“We are working side-by-side with paramedics to rebuild the system, and investing for the future so ambulances can arrive at medical emergencies sooner,” Ms Hennessy said.
“The new Bacchus Marsh ambulance station will make a huge difference to this community’s hardworking and dedicated paramedics, who have clearly outgrown their current facility.”
