Moorabool businesses have created a networking group they hope will boost the region.
BizConnect Moorabool was established in March and its first meeting was held in Bacchus Marsh on April 24 to bring together business people to network, bounce ideas off each other and learn.
President Ian Prince said it was an important group for the Moorabool business community.
“The hope is to be a voice for all things business in the Moorabool area,” he said. “We can have a stronger voice with council … networking is a vital part of it so we can all help each other to grow.
“We can all work together to come up with ideas to bring people into the town and generate business … in an area that is growing as quickly as we are today that is vital.”
The group, which will meet monthly and aims to have a guest speaker at each event, already has more than 40 members.
“Our aim is to grow the membership, which is free, and we are getting financial support through the council to run these events,”
Mr Prince said.
“We will probably have some dinners throughout the year and I’d also like to visit some other groups in other areas to see how they do things.
“There’s passion there to have an ongoing voice in the town on all things business.”
