Mystery lotto winner

The hunt is on for Victoria’s newest millionaire, after a ticket sold in Melton last week came up with the winning numbers in this weeks Oz Lotto draw.

The ticket was one of two division one winners from the January 14 draw, with both set to receive $5,209,329 in winnings. The second winner is from NSW and is also yet to come forward.

The Victorian ticket – which was sold at Melton Lotto & TSG in High Street- is unregistered, giving lotto officials no way of contacting the winner.

Melton Lotto & TSG owner Phong Thai said he was thrilled his outlet had sold a division one winning entry so soon after he took ownership, and hoped the winner made the life changing discovery soon..
“I took over the store three months ago and since then I’ve been praying and hoping we’d sell a division one winning entry,” he said.
“Our regular customers have also become our friends and part of our family so it was my biggest wish one of these customers would win.
“I feel extremely excited and pleased. I’m pumped, I can’t stop smiling.
“This is wonderful news and we’ll be sharing it with our local community and regular customers.
“While this is only our first division one winning entry, the store itself has sold about 40 so we are definitely a lucky store. We hope there will be plenty more coming our way.
“I’m sure this will be a life-changing turning point for our customer, so I hope they come forward soon to check their ticket.”

Lotto officials urged ticket holders to check their numbers to ensure they don’t miss the chance to claim their winnings.
