More than he can bear

The adventures of Nathan and Honey Bear have taken the duo around the world – but Honey recently went missing.

Five-year-old Nathan, of Kurunjang, was given Honey Bear when he was two and mum Helen Graham said they were inseparable from the start.

Until, while on a recent Christmas shopping trip to Werribee Plaza, Honey was lost.

“Anyone who knows Nathan knows that he just adores the bear,” Ms Graham said.

“Everywhere we go, the bear is always clutched under his arm.

“We’ve been on a number of holidays and bear even gets his own boarding pass.”

Ms Graham put a call out to residents
on Facebook earlier this month appealing
for information about Honey Bear’s whereabouts.

“We’re out and about all the time and we are normally so careful not to misplace Honey,” Ms Graham said.

“He’s been to Europe with us, three cruises, interstate to Queensland, Hamilton Island … and we’ve never lost him.

“I would love for Nathan to know when he grows up the lengths we went to try and find his bear.”

She said although Nathan, who has special needs, has other bears the bond is not the same.
