Outdoor pools in Bacchus Marsh and Ballan will open for extended hours on Friday 9 January as temperatures are forecast to soar.
With the Bureau of Meteorology predicting a top of 42 degrees, Moorabool Shire Council confirmed both outdoor pools will be open from 11am to 8pm to help residents cool off.
Council warned operations remain subject to weather and safety conditions, with pools able to close temporarily or for the day in the event of extreme fire danger (Code Red days), lightning, electrical storms or other safety risks.
High attendance is expected due to the heat, and entry may be delayed during peak periods if capacity limits are reached.
Any changes to operating hours or closures will be communicated via council’s social media channels.
Residents are encouraged to check conditions before attending and plan accordingly.
