Registrations are still open for residents to attend a community session tomorrow night about the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project hosted by Moorabool council.

The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) has appointed Ausnet Services to construct and operate a 190-kilometre high-voltage transmission line from Sydenham to Bulgana, which has caused concern and anger within the community.

The council’s website states the sessions are designed to “better empower the community,” with experts speaking to the public on various topics relating to the controversial project.

Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning senior impact assessor Jack Krohn will present the session and recordings will be available online.

Residents are also encouraged to submit questions prior to the session which will begin at 6pm and run for an hour.
