Moorabool council is set to present at a hearing into the environmental effects of the proposed Western Renewable Link (WRL) on Wednesday 26 November.
Moorabool provided a written submission in September on the range of unacceptable impacts the proposed transmission line would bring on the shire, with council aiming to explore the impacts in its verbal submissions and the evidence of its technical experts over four days.
“Council acknowledges every community member who has already taken the time to observe the Hearing or ask questions of AusNet’s experts,” mayor Steve Vendetti-Taylor said.
“There is now an opportunity to do the same for council’s experts.”
Today, council will submit short verbal submissions and explore expert evidence based on the social impacts of the proposed transmission line.
On Thursday 27 November, expert evidence will centre around planning and environmental matters related to bushfires, before the council will return to discuss undergrounding and electricity transmission on Monday 1 December, followed by a closing submission on Tuesday 2 December.
Those who wish to participate and ask questions of an expert are encouraged to email Planning Panels Victoria at office@planningpanels.vic.gov.au by noon on the business day prior to the scheduled expert to appear.
Participants and observers are also given the opportunity to attend the hearing in person or watch online.
