Moorabool council will have their first meeting of 2022 tonight which will be available for residents to watch via live stream.
On the agenda includes the development of the waste and resource recovery strategy 2030.
Approval will be sought to release the proposed strategy for community consultation and feedback.
With the population of Moorabool expected to grow to 72,000 by 2041, this strategy is designed to prevent pressure put on existing services and infrastructure.
Examples of actions to achieve within the strategy include options and costing of mandated services (separate FOGO and glass bins), help residents with hard waste disposal, review operations of transfer stations and educational resources including on littering and illegal dumping.
A notice of motion will be put forward to prepare a report on a possible upgrade for Rogers Reserve to include a half wicket cricket pitch, a half basketball court, play equipment upgrade, a barbecue area with shelter and public toilets.
An amendment will also be considered to correct a Heritage Overlay for the historic Browns homestead in Parwan that is currently on the incorrect property.
Council will also give the second quarter update on the progress of the 2021-25 council plan, as well as an outstanding actions progress report for the 2017-21 council plan.
