Work has begun at Mill Park in Ballan, just off Blackwood Street and Simpsons Street, along the Werribee River.
The works include the construction of a carpark, asphalt road, footpath and drainage works.
One resident commented on a Facebook post from the council: “Thank goodness! It’s improvements like this that make Ballan more desirable”.
Construction is due to be completed by early December.
