Applications for the Men’s Shed Funding Program 2024 – 2025 are now open.
A total of $860,000 is available, with individual grants of up to $100,000 available to put towards the construction or refurbishing of Men’s Sheds across the state.
The grants were created for the purpose of bringing men together in a safe, inclusive environment.
Men’s Sheds address mental health and community engagement with the ’spirit of mateship’ in mind.
Melton MP Steve McGhie said the importance of these grants in contributing to the wellbeing of men in the area could not be stressed enough.
“Men’s Sheds are important places for men to connect, socialise, learn new skills, and work on projects that give back to their communities,” he said.
Existing sheds in Taylors Hill and Melton provide a space for men aged 26 and above to participate in a variety of collective activities ranging from woodworking and cycling groups to wellbeing events.
Information sessions will be held throughout the application period, the links to which are available on the Victorian government website.
