Three teenage boys from the Melton area have been charged following a carjacking in Windsor earlier this month.
Police understand the group entered a rideshare vehicle on Martin Street in Brighton about 4.53am on 5 November.
Police allege the group threatened the 27-year-old driver with a machete before they stole the vehicle on Union Street in Windsor.
The unoccupied vehicle was later located on Perth Street in Prahran.
Detectives executed multiple search warrants at properties in Harkness and Kurunjang on Thursday 20 November, leading to two 15-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy from the Melton area being charged with aggravated carjacking.
One of the 15-year-old boys was remanded, while the 16-year-old boy was bailed with all three to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
The 27-year-old driver was not injured in the ordeal.
