A Melton South woman has won $4.8 million in Sunday’s Set for Life draw.
The woman held the only division one winning entry in draw 2355, taking home the division one prize, paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.
An official from The Lott called the winner this morning to confirm the news.
“I’m so nervous right now,” she said.
“I started playing Set for Life about a year ago. I play each week and I usually check the numbers when I’m in bed to see if I’ve won.
“I’d woken up in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back to sleep so I jumped on my iPad and checked my online account to see if I’d won anything in the draw.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw I’d won division one. It was crazy! I woke up my partner straight away and told him.
“He didn’t believe me. He was very unsure about the whole thing, and he kept thinking it was just a dream.
“We didn’t sleep a wink after that! We kept checking the ticket to make sure it was real. It’s amazing.
“Since we couldn’t sleep, we just sat up talking about what we’ll do with the money.
“We’re definitely planning to buy a house and we’d like to upgrade our cars.
“There will be a few holidays as well. We’d love to do an overseas trip this year.
“We’ll certainly take it a bit easier too and use the prize to really enjoy our lives. Then we’ll save some for the future.
“We’ve got a really nice bottle of wine in the fridge that we’ve been saving for a special occasion. I guess this is the special occasion!”
This marks the 93rd Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the second Set for Life division one winner so far this calendar year.
