Melton council holiday hours

Melton council will have altered hours over the holiday period.

Customer service and libraries will be closed from Christmas Eve until Wednesday December 29, and again on January 1.

Residents can call the 24 hour phone service on 9747 7200.

For non urgent matters outside of business hours residents can leave a message for a council officer to contact you during business hours.

If the matter is urgent, an operator will connect you to council’s emergency after-hours paging service.

Residents can access Connector Hubs support by appointment only, so you will need to call or email your local hub in advance to set up a time to talk to someone.

Food relief is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The Melton recycling facility will be closed Christmas Day and New Years Day. It will otherwise be open from 8am till 4:30pm.

There are no changes to bin collection and those scheduled for pick up on Friday December 24 will be collected on the day.

For animal management in Melton, a ranger will be on call and can be contacted on 9747 7200.

The animal pound will be open Christmas morning and Boxing Day morning from 9:30 till 10:30. It will be closed Christmas Eve, and then December 27, 28 and January 3. Otherwise, the pound will be open with limited hours on other days.

All services will resume normally from January 4 onwards.
