A 68-year-old woman died in Darley on Saturday night, after being found by police in a critical condition.
Emergency services were called to an address on Egan Court about 10.30pm.
Police said the woman was found with critical injuries and could not be revived.
A man in his 20s was taken into custody and is assisting police with inquiries.
Police said they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
